The Centre for Bodo Studies, Bodoland University was instituted in the year, 2014 (as amended in the year, 2023) under Provisions of the Bodoland Accord, 2003 as maintained in the Annexure-III, Appendix C-Sl. No- 22, 24 and in the Annexure-IV, Appendix, C, Sl. No-1. The Bodo society was about to disappear in the long course of the history of human civilization struggling for survival and existence, amid the long process of universalization emerging from time to time within and outside of India since time immemorial as a result of a long course of Orthogenetic and Heterogenetic process of social changes. Since 2014 the Centre for Bodo for Studies has been working relentlessly asa Research Institution affiliated with the Bodoland University.
Only after the independence of India, in the light of the provisions enshrined in the constitution, did people gain the right and opportunities to take initiative for the protection and preservation and promotion and development of individual culture, language, literature, customs, traditions, religion etc. The Centre for Bodo Studies also plays a role in the development and promotion of the Bodo language and literature. The Bodo people have a glorious history of their own covering a long period since time immemorial extending to entire Northern India, from Kashmir to entire North-Eastern India contributing towards the formation and development of the mainstream civilization of India.
As a part of the mission and vision, the Centre for Bodo Studies, decided to publish an Inter-disciplinary, Multi-lingual, Peer-Reviewed, bi-annual e-journal, in June and December every year funded, published and own by Bodoland University as per relevant provisions stated in the Bodoland Accord, 2003 as maintained in the Annexure-III, Appendix C-Sl. No- 22, 24 and in the Annexure-IV, Appendix, C, Sl. No-1. Bodo, Assamese and English are the languages chosen by the Centre for Bodo Studies for writing articles. This journal shall be Bodo Society Specific covering language, literature, society, culture, custom, traditions, social systems and antiquarian studies. The journal provides an intellectual platform to the writers, thinkers, critics and scholars on the Bodo domain of knowledge. The journal publishes literature reviews, book reviews and research articles. It would be a new venture in the Bodo domain of knowledge in general. The writers must have basic information about the Bodo Society, i.e., Language, culture, social systems, customs, traditions and history with an innovative spirit for helping in empirical studies for discovery as Bodo society is concerned. Each writing should situate the thesis within the context of an ongoing discourse so that the contributions become contemporary and relevant.
